The GOP reenacted Jim Crow-style discrimination to stop Colorado Republicans from voting for Donald Trump and will attempt to do the same in other states. Colorado state GOP leaders admitted the Colorado Republican Party was a ‘club’ that did not allow Trump supporters. These supporters include voters of nearly every demographic in the state. Party officials fear an interesting race might propel thousands of additional citizens to participate. While that might sound good the elite insiders fear that might dilute their influence and power.
For those who do not know about “Jim Crow Laws” a short history lesson. During most of the 20th century, Jim Crow laws were enacted to discourage African-Americans from voting and thereby eliminating any black influence in Southern political. “African-Americans were not allowed to vote in the Democratic primary elections,” abhmuseum.org revealed. “White Democrats said the Democratic Party was a ‘club’ and did not allow black members.” That’s what the Democrat-run KKK feared during the Jim Crow era, thousands of black Americans taking power away from Democrat Party insiders by having their voices heard in elections.
History is now repeating in the GOP. Party insiders are using the same tactics to stop Trump from getting 1237 delegates. And by stopping Trump they are also stopping Cruz. If the elite insiders must stop either of them from winning in the first ballot. Once blocked there the elites will shift and skew the rules until both are eliminated and a vanilla party nominee is selected. The GOP does not care about anything except maintaining their privilege and power.
The GOP would rather cancel elections outright or elect Hillary. Rather than to expand the Republican Party leadership beyond just predominantly old, white men with country club memberships who control everything. Cruz and Trump supporters…Not Welcome!
